Gabrielle Smith, M.S.Ed, works at the Washington Heights Expeditionary Learning School (WHEELS) in Manhattan. With a long-term interest in Expeditionary Learning and dual language instruction, she helped design and is currently a leader in WHEELS’ new Dual Language elementary school. Previously at WHEELS, she has taught Kindergarten, high school Spanish and Math, and was the high school’s first Dean of School Culture. Prior to WHEELS, she was a Dual Language teacher in the upper-elementary grades. She has been an adjunct instructor at Bank Street College where she has taught a course on Language Acquisition.
