Laura Berman earned a master of education degree in moderate special needs from Lesley University. She is trained in Orton-Gillingham and has spent almost 15 years working with dyslexic students in different settings. Laura also earned a master of arts degree in teaching mathematics from Mt. Holyoke College and was the 2021–2023 recipient of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics’ Program of Mathematics Study and Active Professionalism grant. While continuing to teach at a small, independent school in Central Massachusetts, Laura is most interested in the intersection of math and dyslexia instruction, with a focus on helping dyslexic children feel empowered and successful throughout all aspects of their life.
